PuckPoint is run by M3A LLC of New Britain, Connecticut. This page says what we keep about you, why, and how to have it removed.
What we collect
- Visits. We count page views with Umami, a self-hosted analytics tool that sets no cookies and does not identify you.
- Newsletter. If you sign up, we keep your email address, the region you chose and when you signed up. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe.
- Accounts. An account stores your email address, a display name if you give one, and your password (hashed, never stored as typed).
- Rink reports. Reports are shown without names. An email address is optional and used only if we have a question about your report. To limit abuse we store a one-way hash of your network address, not the address itself.
- Find a game. A post shows your team, age group, date and notes. Your contact email is never shown; when another team replies, we pass their message to you by email and do not keep it.
- Contests. An entry is made by an adult account holder, who confirms they may share it (a parent or guardian for a player under 18). It shows the player's first name, age group and town, with the photo, video link or nomination text. Photos are re-saved without their embedded data, which removes camera details and location. Votes are tied to an account and stored with a one-way hash of the network address, to stop repeat voting.
- Listings. Coaches, photographers and other businesses who list themselves choose what is shown publicly.
- Payments. Paid listings, when card payment is offered, are handled by Stripe; we never see your card number.
Who processes it
Our servers are in the United States (Vultr). Site emails and newsletters are sent through SendGrid; the newsletter list is kept on our own mailing server. Payments go through Stripe. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not run advertising trackers.
Children
PuckPoint is for parents and adults; accounts are for people 18 and over. We hold information about a player only when a parent or guardian enters them in a contest, and then only the first name, age group, town and what was entered. Rink reports and game posts must not name children.
How long we keep it
Accounts, listings and contest entries stay until you remove them or ask us to. Newsletter addresses are deleted on request; unsubscribed addresses are kept only so we never email them again.
Your choices
To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or to take down a contest entry, contact us and we will answer within 30 days. See also our terms of use.
